²²He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.”

Revelation 3:22World English Bible, Protestant Edition

The scene

The address to Laodicea closes by calling anyone with an ear to hear the Spirit’s words to the assemblies.

To understand

The community in Laodicea claims to need nothing while being described as poor, blind and naked. It is called to repent. The one who overcomes is promised a seat with the speaker on his throne.

A question

To whom does the Spirit speak at the end of the address to Laodicea?
