¹⁷to the space above the door, even to the inner house, and outside, and by all the wall all around inside and outside, by measure.

Ezekiel 41:17World English Bible, Protestant Edition

The scene

Ezekiel’s description extends above the door and around the walls, inside and outside, by measure.

To understand

The surrounding lines describe wood covering, windows and carved cherubim with palm trees between them. The account moves from surfaces and boundaries to the figures on them.

A question

How do the measured surfaces prepare the description of the carved figures?
