¹¹If we sowed to you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we reap your fleshly things?

1 Corinthians 9:11World English Bible, Protestant Edition

The scene

The letter asks whether sowing spiritual things among the recipients gives grounds for receiving material support.

To understand

The preceding line describes plowing and threshing with hope of sharing the produce. The next says they have not used their right, to avoid hindering the good news of Christ.

A question

How does choosing not to use the right affect the argument about receiving support?
