⁶For there is a time and procedure for every purpose, although the misery of man is heavy on him.

Ecclesiastes 8:6World English Bible, Protestant Edition

The scene

Ecclesiastes speaks of a time and procedure for every purpose while human misery weighs heavily.

To understand

The preceding line connects a wise heart with knowing time and procedure. The next says a person does not know what will happen or how. The passage places discernment alongside that lack of knowledge.

A question

What remains unknown even where the passage speaks of a fitting time and procedure?
