The scene

The writer wants the readers not to sin and says that, if anyone sins, Jesus Christ the righteous is their Counselor with the Father.

To understand

The next sentence describes Christ's atoning work as concerning their sins and those of the whole world. The instruction about conduct appears alongside a statement of help when someone sins.

A question

How does the writer address both avoiding sin and what happens if someone sins?
