²You shall speak all that I command you; and Aaron your brother shall speak to Pharaoh, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.

The scene

God tells Moses to speak what he is commanded and assigns Aaron the task of speaking to Pharaoh.

To understand

The request has a named outcome: Pharaoh is to let the Israelites leave his land. The following lines also announce that Pharaoh will not listen, so the assignment is given before the refusal.
