¹⁷You have removed my soul far away from peace. I forgot prosperity.

Lamentations 3:17World English Bible, Protestant Edition

The scene

The speaker says he has been removed from peace and has forgotten well-being.

To understand

His surrounding complaint names teeth broken with gravel, ashes, lost strength and lost expectation from the LORD. The language gives bodily details alongside his account of hope failing.

A question

Which words describe harm to the body, and which describe what the speaker can no longer hope for?
