The scene

As they descend the mountain, Jesus tells the disciples to keep what they saw to themselves until the Son of Man rises from the dead.

To understand

The preceding verse leaves Jesus alone with the disciples. In verse 10 they obey his instruction while questioning what rising from the dead means.
